Tatting

Tatting is a method of making lace through knots and loops of thread dating back to the early 19th century; although similar methods were used much earlier in the creation of nets for fishing. Historically, tatting was used to create collars, doiliess, and edging for linens. Today it has many more applications. Pictured below are just a few of my personal works with shuttle tatting.

The selection pictured below is a grouping of both original and other artist's patterns that Paige Deputy has made and patterns she has taught.
